Time Capsule

As the summer sunshine tries (mostly in vain) to peak out from behind grey clouds, the time has come to bust out my capsule festival wardrobe.

First up is an original 1980s Topshop body-Con dress in super scorching neon pink. The perfect colour for this season and so naughty.

Team it with a fantastic early 1990s, oversized studded denim shirt for a more casual look.

Next, a pair of pretty vintage 1980s M&S floral shorts which I’ve cropped off to give them more of an edge.

Topped with a 1970s Falmers fitted denim waistcoat.

Finally, add the perfect festival backpack and I’m ready for the off.

Lovely for a summer weekend away, everything can be mixed & matched so no need for more. Well, apart from the wellies of course and maybe some knickers.

Here’s to a simply smashing summer.

A Right Royal Knees Up

Excitement is mounting down here at the Manor.

Only a few weeks to go until The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and I’m already outfit planning for the event.

First up is this simply stunning 1950s vintage royal blue (of course) waffle cotton dress with white trim. Accessorised with a huge 1960s enamel flower brooch, a white clutch and an unseen red petticoat to complete the look and keep the flag flying.

Next we have an amazing 1980s vintage red polka dot dress. Even though it’s an 80s dress it has a lovely 1940s vibe, complete with the very latest thing ‘the peplum’. I’ve added a blue patent belt, a string of pearls and some gorgeous 1960s flower earrings to finish off.

Now all I have to decide is, which to wear first and then find the nearest Street Party.

I Hope Kate & Wills have arranged one, I promised Harry I’d teach him to tango.

3 cheers for her Majesty.

White Up My Street

Good Day to you my lovelies.

Hope life is treating you well.

Here at the manor I’ve got a hankering for the pure so today I’m going for a touch of white.

I’ve teamed my super, 1960s vintage M&S belted mini dress with shocking turquoise tights, a boxy leather deco inspired shoulder bag and a fabulous headscarf.

Well I do need my hint of kitsch otherwise I’d be lost.

It’s all a bit Jackie O’ no she didn’t.

A bit of all white

Hellloooo Lovelies.

Well it seams that Spring is finally springing here at The Manor and the sun is doing her level best to break through the winter gloom.

I’m celebrating by getting  the pins out in this super cute, turquoise 60s mini dress. Accessorised with bright beads and a gorgeous clutch bag,

(borrowed from my good friend) and perfect for this Lady.

Here comes the sun

Get my good side

My body's too beadalicious for you.

Fab graphic bag (Thanks Claire x)

Now all I have to do is find my blasted shades, wherever did Freeman put them?

Till next time. xxx

Where The Wild Things Are.

Grrrrrrrrrr. Hello Tigers. Welcome back.

Today I’m in love with all things animal. I’ve ferreted out the faux fur and grabbed the snakeskin clutch (vintage of course) and, as there seams to be an explosion of love for our feathered friends on the High St too at the moment I’ve decided to take a peek at some of my favourite animal inspired pieces.

Top of my list is this gorgeous (and I must say quite huge) Vintage Lion Pendant. Purrrfect.

Next up, my Vintage Silver Frog Pendant with turquoise set stone. He looks a little squashed but I still love him.

Finally, I salute the man (or bird) of the moment with my cute Vintage Articulated Owl Pendant. With his amber stone set eyes, he definitely means business.

Hope you have a wild evening too.

Won’t You Charleston With Me?

Goldtone Fan Pendant

 Chin Chin Old Beans.

Out of hibernation at last, blinking into the sunlight, well into the grey skies anyway.

These long winter months often leave one feeling starved of inspiration (if not of food and drink).

Then, just when you think you can’t take any more glitter, cork popping and bank balance draining along comes ‘The Artist’ and everything is right with the world once more.

I’m absolutely in love with this film and everyone in it, especially Uggie of course and the gorgeous Jean Dujardin and stunning Bérénice Bejo. It makes me want to don some fringe, roll down my stockings, rouge my knees and dance.

Amazing how an almost entirely silent film can provoke such emotion and longing.

Oh, Art Deco. How I crave your clean lines, architectural shapes and mirrored finishes. So stylish, sigh.

I have few pieces from that period as they are few and far between and mostly out of my price range. Luckily for us, fashion comes back time and time again and you will find this look in pieces from 50s homeware, 60s dropped waists and the catwalks this year too.

Hoorah!

Pretty Pink Sequin Top With Fringed Hem

In The Doghouse

Well Hellooo.

Sorry I haven’t been chatty for a while. My hectic lifestyle (also known as the day job) has given me a bad case of the Festive Funk.

So, I’ve decided to pick myself up and pop off for a couple of days. Toot Toot.

My travel attire consists of a super cosy vintage sweater dress in fabulous houndstooth check teamed with a skinny leather belt.

I’m also carrying my favourite oversized leather travel bag. Perfect for hiding the Hot Toddy. Well a girl needs to keep out the winter chill somehow.

Now where’s Freeman with the Rolls?
