LBD. Loves Beautiful Dresses.

Good afternoon vintage vixens.

Well there doesn’t seam to be any let up in this truly dire weather does there and it’s making me think about autumn.

Early I know but what’s a lady to do when skies are grey. It’s my favourite season for fabulous fashion and what better way to get ready than with this simply gorgeous 1950s vintage black velvet dress.

I simply adore soft, lush velvet. It makes you want to snuggle and stroke.

What saves this dress from LBD boredom is the pretty rhinestone clasp on the belt. I’ve also added a rhinestone brooch to compliment and topped it all off with this, most amazing 1950s embossed leather clutch bag. The colours and oriental design are simply stunning , brighten up the dress and my mood too.

Well I suppose it’s good for the garden.

Time Capsule

As the summer sunshine tries (mostly in vain) to peak out from behind grey clouds, the time has come to bust out my capsule festival wardrobe.

First up is an original 1980s Topshop body-Con dress in super scorching neon pink. The perfect colour for this season and so naughty.

Team it with a fantastic early 1990s, oversized studded denim shirt for a more casual look.

Next, a pair of pretty vintage 1980s M&S floral shorts which I’ve cropped off to give them more of an edge.

Topped with a 1970s Falmers fitted denim waistcoat.

Finally, add the perfect festival backpack and I’m ready for the off.

Lovely for a summer weekend away, everything can be mixed & matched so no need for more. Well, apart from the wellies of course and maybe some knickers.

Here’s to a simply smashing summer.

Com-pleat Perfection

Hello my lovelies.

I’ve been away for a little while, recovering from all the splendid Jubilee celebrations. Hope you all had a super time too.

Now I’m back I’ve decided to ignore the decidedly inclement weather and release the legs.

I love this gorgeous 1970s vintage pleated  mini dress with lace detail sleeves and faux pearl buttons. The pale blue print reminds me of a Parisian boudoir.

Pastel Perfect

Side View. Check Out the Sleeves.

To complete my 70s vibe I’ve topped it with a fantastic vintage felt hat and cool tan leather shoulder bag

She Wore Blue Velvet

Hello lovely people.

The sun is finally shining, the birds are singing and I’m feeling blue (Well I’m feeling Blue Velvet to be exact).

I’m continuing my Diamond Jubilee themed outfits with this beautiful early 1960s vintage, royal blue velvet dress. It fits beautifully, a tiny fitted waist with a slight curve on the hips and so soft to the touch too.

My Latest Crush

To keep things suitably regal I have on a pretty glass necklace and have finished off with a gorgeous, yet practical, tan box bag.

A Little Bit Of Sparkle.

The Royal Box

Hope you all have a jolly super time.

A Right Royal Knees Up

Excitement is mounting down here at the Manor.

Only a few weeks to go until The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and I’m already outfit planning for the event.

First up is this simply stunning 1950s vintage royal blue (of course) waffle cotton dress with white trim. Accessorised with a huge 1960s enamel flower brooch, a white clutch and an unseen red petticoat to complete the look and keep the flag flying.

Prom Tiddly Om Pom

Blooming Lovely

Next we have an amazing 1980s vintage red polka dot dress. Even though it’s an 80s dress it has a lovely 1940s vibe, complete with the very latest thing ‘the peplum’. I’ve added a blue patent belt, a string of pearls and some gorgeous 1960s flower earrings to finish off.

Peplum Perfect

Patriotic Petals

Now all I have to decide is, which to wear first and then find the nearest Street Party.

I Hope Kate & Wills have arranged one, I promised Harry I’d teach him to tango.

3 cheers for her Majesty.

Festival Fever

Here I am sitting watching the rain beat relentlessly down and what springs to mind?

Summer festivals of course. The rain, the mud, the keep on going spirit of it all.

I’ve cranked up the stereogram, rooted out a bit of Joni and I’m ready to go.

OK rain, do your worst.

Wearing my gorgeous vintage, embroidered skirt with a simple white vest, tooled leather belt and completing the look with a beautiful vintage leather tassel shoulder bag.

Always on the fringe of things.

Up close. Beautiful detail.

Alright now. Bring on the Glamping, the Hunters and the Pimms please.

See you on the other side.

Disco Diva Going Green

Today I’m feeling all disco, so I’m digging out the glitter-ball, strapping on the sandals and going green.

I love this Vintage 1970s Si-Bon cape sleeve dress. It simply glides over the body, hugging in all the right places and is the perfect mid length too.

(so forgiving for all our figures).

I’ve teamed it with a cool jade green & goldtone brooch and goldtone chain necklace worn as a bracelet.

Sort of a cross between Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface and a classic 1940s Film Noir heroine.

Going Green

Clings in all the right places

Balls to convention. I'm wearing it as a bracelet.

Si Bon? Oh yes it is.

The dress is so pristine it still has all it’s original tags too.

Light up the floor Freeman, One is off to play.
